More Than Half Of Malden Voters Turn Out For Election

Fifty-five percent of registered voters in the city showed up at the polls Tuesday.

MALDEN, MA — More than half of eligible voters in Malden flooded the polls Tuesday, voting largely in lockstep with the rest of the state.

Fifty-five percent of eligible voters, or 17,734 voters, showed up on Election Day, according to the city's unofficial results.

Malden voters shut down Question 1, 10,476-5,953. (In a statistical anomaly, the same exact number of voters in Malden voted against Question 1 as the number of voters in Melrose did.)

Meanwhile, Malden voters voted in favor of Question 2, 12,625-4,543, and Question 3, 12,004-5,246.

In Malden, State Sen. Jason Lewis coasted to 12,864 votes compared to 3,759 for Republican challenger Erin Calvo-Bacci.

Also, Sen. Elizabeth Warren beat Geoff Diehl, 12,497-4,400, and Gov. Charlie Baker beat Jay Gonzalez.
