A 39-year-old Boston man allegedly stabbed a Malden man to death early Saturday morning at 28 Newhall St. in Malden and stabbed another man as well.
Juan Buruca was arrested Saturday and charged with murder, armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

The deceased was 48-year-old Jorge Alberto Machado Mejia, according to authorities. The second victim, who is being treated for his injuries, which are believed to be non-life-threatening, is a 45-year-old man, authorities said.
Police responded to the Newhall Road residence at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday for a report of a double stabbing. Both victims were found at the scene and taken to local hospitals. Machado Mejia was pronounced dead at Whidden Hospital in Everett, authorities said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on Machado Mejia to determine the cause and matter of his death, according to authorities.
Buruca was related to one of the victims, authorities said. He allegedly got into an argument with that victim and other family members earlier in the evening. Police have recovered the alleged murder weapon, according to the district attorney’s office.
Buruca is scheduled to be arraigned Monday, Aug. 11, in Malden District Court.
The incident remains under investigation by Malden Police and Massachusetts State Police.
