"No Mutiny This Time" Lecture And Discussion With Neil Novello

Join us for a special event lecture and film discussion, “Why Didn’t They Mutiny?” with local Malden lecturer and filmmaker, Neil Novello. The lecture and discussion will be on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 6:30-8:45pm at the Malden Public Library. Additionally, we will be showing the 1935 classic film, “Mutiny on the Bounty” with Clark Gable on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 6:00-8:30pm.

On October 29, 2012, the tall ship Bounty, a 50-year old replica of the original HMS Bounty, built for the 1962 film “Mutiny on the Bounty,” sank deep into the ocean off the coast of North Carolina while sailing through Hurricane Sandy. The Captain and a crew member died in the disaster. Neil Novello’s presentation asks the question, “Why Didn’t They Mutiny?”

“No Mutiny This Time,” is the title of filmmaker Neil D. Novello’s thought-provoking talk featuring his video production, Bounty & Her Captain, described as Part Testimonial, Part Shipbuilding and Part Hollywood Ballyhoo.”

“He combines his exclusive interviews with Captain Robin Walbridge during Bounty’s restoration & maintenance work in Boothbay Harbor, Maine and includes findings from U.S. Coast Guard & National Transportation Safety Board reports on events leading to the loss of Bounty on October 29, 2012 during Hurricane Sandy.”

On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, join us from 6:00-8:30pm for the classic 1935 film based on the book, Mutiny on the Bounty. Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a 94% rating.
