Carolyn S. Oleson, a resident of Malden, formerly of Boston and Medford, died on Wednesday evening, Oct. 22, 2014. She was 53.

Born in Cambridge on Dec. 31, 1960, she was the beloved daughter of the late Richard T. and Margaret (McAleavey) Oleson. Carolyn was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1978. She had served as a Candy Striper at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford and had also volunteered for Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for many years. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed shopping and visiting the theater. She was generous to a fault, especially when it came to her many nieces and nephews. She was a high level business professional, working as an Accounting Manager for K & L Gates Law Office in Boston, a family company that was very supportive of Carolyn during her illness. Above all, she was a very devoted sister and aunt to her beloved family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
