Obituary: Cornelius 'Neil' Kinnon, Longtime Malden Resident
Kinnon died Thursday, April 24.

Cornelius J. “Neil” Kinnon, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Thursday, April 24, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford.
Neil was born and raised in Malden. He graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1945. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was a paratrooper in the Army, and served with the 376th Battalion. In 1949, he was honorably discharged having earned the rank of Corporal. He then attended the University of Florida for two years, before taking a year of computer school. He then went to work as a computer operator for the Department of Defense in Boston, retiring in 1986. He also was a computer teacher at the school where he studied programming. Neil was a long time member of the DAV in Malden. He enjoyed working with his hands and stayed busy with projects around the house.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothey A. (Rowe) Kinnon, his children, William Foley and wife Christine of Malden and Dorothy Kozlowsky and husband William of Saugus, his brother, Leo Kinnon of Malden, his grandchildren, Brittany, Michelle and Stefany Foley, and many nieces and nephews.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Alice (Monahan) Kinnon, and his sister, Lynda Scott.

A memorial service for Neil will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Wednesday, April 30, at 11 a.m.
