The following is from Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home.
Dorothy H. (Vining) Kirwin, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Dorothy was born and raised in Malden, one of eight children of Robert and Catherine Vining. She graduated from Malden High School with the class of 1975. She soon took a secretarial job with the MDC. In 1979, she and her sweetheart, Kenneth W. Kirwin, were married in Malden. They first settled down in Malden, and when children began arriving, she retired to focus on raising them. After six years in Malden, the family moved to Melrose where they have lived since. Although her family was her main focus, she did enjoy traveling to Connecticut, and in years past liked to play bingo. She was also a true animal lover.
