On May 5, Rally to Save Quality Services and Keep Local Jobs in Malden!

Mayor Gary Christenson and School Superintendent David DeRuosi, Jr. are proposing to "out-source" the Malden school custodian jobs to a private contractor.

There are 28 school custodians: 57 percent live in Malden and another 29 percent live in communities contiguous to Malden.  These jobs are full-time jobs with good wages and benefits.  With an average of 16 years of service to Malden, the loss of these jobs will not only be devastating to the custodians and their families, but to the entire community as well.

There is an important School Committee meeting to address this issue on May 5th.  We will be rallying outside before the meeting and we need your support to save these good jobs.
