Armed Robbery Suspect Who Drove Truck Into Revere Pool Arrested
The suspect fled on foot after crashing into a backyard pool, police said.

REVERE, MA — A Peabody nab who robbed an Everett convenience store was arrested Monday night shortly after driving his van into a backyard pool in Revere, police said.
Gianna Mazza, 42, is charged with armed robbery while masked, failure to stop for police, and several other motor vehicle violations. Police say he robbed the Elm Street Fine Mart around 9:44 p.m., displaying a firearm later found to be a replica. The store employee fought with the suspect and chased him out of the store, alerting nearby officers on patrol.
Police say Mazza then entered a van and fled until he crashed through a fence and into a pool at 120 Butler Ave. in Revere. He then allegedly fled the van, but was apprehended after a search by Everett, Revere, Chelsea, and State Police.

"I’m thankful nobody was hurt and that out officers were able to be in the right place at the right time to assist in the capture of the robbery suspect. It was a great team effort by all involved agencies that resulted in this quick apprehension."
