'Stand-Out' Display Coming to Malden T Station to Raise Domestic Violence Awareness

Silent Witnesses, life-sized wooden figures representing the women and men killed by domestic violence, will be placed at the station.

MALDEN, MA – The Zonta Club of Malden will participate in a "stand-out" at the Malden Center MBTA station on Dec. 5 to raise awareness about domestic violence.

The "stand-out" is part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign. As part of the initiative, 15 "Silent Witnesses," life-sized red wooden figures representing the women and men killed by domestic violence, will be placed for Massachusetts victims.

Each Silent Witness will have a placard with the name and information about the person it represents.

The Zonta Club of Malden is a member of Zonta International, an organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through advocacy and service. It currently has 1,200 clubs in 64 countries around the world and boasts a membership of 30,000.
