Summer Live on the Lawn Concert Series Kicks Off July 13

The Malden Public Library’s “Live on the Lawn” Summer Concert Series kicks off on Wednesday, July 13, at 7:00 pm featuring O’Boogie & The Fireman, a different take on the music of The Beatles. Band members include David Moorhead – Guitar/Vocals, Jim Collins – Bass, and George Pedro – Drums.

O’Boogie & The Fireman play the music of The Beatles (and some of the songs they released as solo artists), but give them their own unique spin. According to band member David Moorhead, “in 1974 John Lennon dubbed himself Dr. Winston O’Boogie and in 1993 Paul McCartney adopted the moniker The Fireman. In trying to land on a name for the band, O’Boogie & The Fireman was chosen because we do the music these gentlemen wrote, but we do it our own way, not sticking to straight to the script of the original album versions. It’s all Beatles (and sometimes their solo work), but it comes out a little bluesy, a little jammy, a little psychedelic, and really fun.”
