Three Mystic Valley Students Win Globe Art Awards

Art will be displayed in the state's Transportation Building in Boston.

The Boston Globe recently announced the winners of the 2011 Gold Key, Silver Key and Honorable Mention Awards for its annual Scholastic Art Awards. Three students from Mystic Valley won honors.


The Mystic Valley winners are: Freshman Raphael Stigliano was awarded a silver key for his “Fauve Self Portrait” in color pencil; Junior Anna Luti won an honorable mention for her “American Soldiers” using mixed media; Senior Derek Lee was also awarded an honorable mention for his “Color Line Array” using acrylic on canvas.

The Gold Key and Silver Key winning artwork will be on exhibit at the State Transportation Building, 10 Park Plaza, 2nd Floor, Boston from Monday, Feb. 14 through Thursday, April 7. The hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.


There will also be an awards day for the Gold and Silver Key winners on March 6 in Boston
