2nd Annual Run from the Cops 5K Run/Walk to benefit Special Olympics

The Mansfield Police
Association and the Law Enforcement Torch Run will be hosting the 2nd
Annual Run from the Cops 5K Run/Walk to benefit Special Olympics on Sunday June
22, 2014 at the Mansfield High School.



Registration opens
at 8:30 a.m. at the Run/Walk starts at 10 a.m. This year they will be hosting  a Kids Fun Run that is open to kids ten years
of age and younger. The Fun Run is free and the first 200 kids receive race
medals! The Kids Fun Run will start at 9:30.



This year’s race
will be dedicated in memory of Kailyn Krishtal who was a Special Olympic
Athlete from North Attleboro, that competed in the Attleboro School Day Games
for the past two years.  Kailyn was the
Capitan of last year’s Run from the Cops top fundraising team. Many of her
family and friends will be joining “Kailyn’s Krew” in her honor and wearing
red.

There will be prizes
and medals awarded to the top male & female finishers as well as top three
winners, both male & female, in each age group. There will also be awards
for the top fundraising individual and team.



Runners and walkers
are encouraged to pre-register by logging onto www.masstorchrun.org and clicking on the Mansfield Run
from the Cops tab on the right side of the page. Runners & Walkers can form
teams on line and use social media to help raise money for Special Olympics.
Pre-registration is $20 and $25 the day of the race. There will be pre-race
T-Shirt & number pick-up at Marathon Sports located on School Street in
Mansfield on Friday June 20th and Saturday June 21st.

The 5K course is a
fairly flat measured 5K course that is USATF Certified. The race will be
chipped timed by Spitler Racing Systems.



Many Special Olympic
athletes will be on hand at the race volunteering, running, awarding medals as
well as cheering on all the runners and walkers. If you have any questions you
