Come Celebrate Fall at NRT’s Harvest Fair
Easton, MA - On October 5, 2014 the NRT will hold its 41st annual Harvest and Craft fair on the grounds of its Sheep Pasture property on Main Street in Easton. This enduring fall event will bring fun for people of all ages! From local artisans’ crafts to fabulous fair food, this year’s Harvest Fair will bring everyone together in a delightful celebration of the season.

Throughout the fair, visitors will have many entertainment choices. Over 60 crafters and artisans will be on hand to share their items with visitors. Always an important part of the fair, music will get visitors dancing their way through the fair throughout the day. The Barn Burners String Band, American Beauties, and Rowdies of the Meadow will each bringing their unique sounds to the Harvest Fair stage. In addition to music, the fair will also feature a mixture of activities including pony rides, a kids’ costume exchange, and other children’s activities. New this year, the fair will also be offering a mini golf course for families in the Stable Barn. Hungry after all of those activities? Plenty of excellent fair offerings will all be available in the food court area of the fair, from hamburgers to sandwiches. Desserts, caramel apples, and baked goodies will be ready for you in the Sweets n’ Treats Café in the Carriage House building.
Also new to the fair this year, Massachusetts carving artist Dave Conklin will be creating a large gnome birdhouse sculpture all throughout the day. The carving created at the fair will be available through a silent auction at the NRT Information booth. Made from a cedar log harvested right at Sheep Pasture, this unique garden sculpture will be a fantastic addition to any home garden. Come watch this impressive sculpture take shape at Harvest Fair!

The 41st Anniversary Harvest Fair will be held at NRT’s Sheep Pasture, 307 Main Street, Easton, MA, on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm and is a rain or shine event. Admission for the fair is $7 adults, ($5 for NRT members with coupon), $1 children. This year, limited free parking is available at the Sheep Pasture property, with the entrance at the NRT Community Gardens on route 138. Please look for signs and NRT volunteers for parking assistance on fair day. For bicyclists coming to the fair, bike storage racks will be available at each of the fair entrance gates. For everyone’s safety, due to the large number of people at Harvest Fair, dogs are not allowed on site on fair day. About the Natural Resources Trust of Easton:
The Natural Resources Trust of Easton is a 501(c)(3), member-supported organization that was started in 1967 in order to protect important natural areas, educate the community about important environmental topics, and to provide the general public with a place where they could feel connected to nature. To this end, the NRT owns and maintains several properties in and around Easton, Massachusetts for the purposes of land and resources conservation and for the benefit of the local community. Throughout its history, the NRT has focused on conservation of natural resources, preservation of land and local culture, and implementation of exceptional environmental education programs. The NRT’s Sheep Pasture property is the welcoming signature conservation area of the organization, located in Easton, MA. Comprised of 154 acres of mixed fields, woodlands, and agricultural areas, Sheep Pasture is truly a cherished community resource and is home to the NRT’s public buildings, classroom facilities, and offices. Every day this conservation area is open free of charge to all members of the public for passive recreational pursuits, and thousands of adults and children visit each year.
