Elderly Housing Complex Fire Displaces Mansfield Seniors
Local firefighters responded to an early morning fire at an elderly housing complex on Bicentennial Court

MANSFIELD, MA - Some occupants of an elderly housing complex on Bicentennial Court have been displaced after an early morning fire.
At about 3:45 a.m. Friday morning, firefighters from Mansfield were called to the scene for a reported blaze in the utility room of the 12-unit complex. Firefighters were able to contain the damage to the utility room, due to a quick response time, according to Fire Chief Neil Boldrighini.
Residents were evacuated to the on-site community center as crews handled the fires. One person was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Residents in all but four of the units were allowed back into their apartments. Housing Authority Director Mike Forbes will assist the displaced with finding temporary housing.
Foxborough, Sharon, North Attleboro, and Easton provided mutual aid. Norton Fire covered the fire station and responded to a separate medical call during the incident.

The fire, which is considered accidental is under investigation.
