Mansfield Airport Commissioners Say Sorry for Telling Pilot who Flew 'Cheaters' Banner over Gillette Stadium to Leave

The Airport Commissioners will send an apology to the pilot that flew an anti-Patriots banner over Gillette Stadium.

The Mansfield Airport Commissioners have a message for a New Jersey pilot who was told to leave and not come back after it was discovered he flew a banner that said “Cheaters Look Up” over Gillette Stadium - we’re sorry.

At Thursday night’s commissioners meeting, the board decided to send pilot Ashley Chalmers an apology letter for being told to leave the airport immediately last week according to the Sun Chronicle.

During the first day of training camp, Chalmers of Jersey Shore Aerial Advertising flew over the home of the Patriots with the banner paid for by a New York Jets fan site. After landing in Mansfield, a worker told Chalmers to leave.

Assistant Airport Manager Kelley Dinneen told the Boston Globe the order tongue-and-cheek but said that she would not have allowed Chalmers at the airport if she knew what the banner said prior to his arrival.

The commissions said that the order ran counter to airport policy, which does not restrict the content of banners.
