Mansfield Candidates Running Unopposed In Town Election

MANSFIELD, MA — It's officially election season. The deadline to submit nomination papers with at least 50 signatures from registered voters has passed.

But after only five people submitted nomination papers for five open seats, all candidates are running unopposed.

Barring anyone withdrawing their nomination before April 11, the ballot for the May 14 town election is set. The following candidates will be on the Foxborough ballot. All carry a term of three years, except Town Moderator which has a one-year term:

Select Board (two openings):

  • Michael Trowbridge (incumbent)
  • Steven Schoonveld (incumbent)

School Committee (two openings):

  • Linda Fernando (incumbent)
  • Lynn Cavicchi

Town Moderator:

  • Robert Saquet (incumbent)

In order to vote in the 2019 town election, Mansfield residents must be registered to vote by April 24.
