Mansfield Convicted Murderer Asks Supreme Court to Hear Sex-Change Case
Lawyers for Michelle Kosilek are asking the Supreme Court to hear her case.

Lawyers for convicted murderer and former Mansfield resident Michelle Kosilek are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn an appeals court ruling denying her a sex change operation paid for by the state.
Kosilek, who is serving a life sentence for killing wife Cheryl McCaul in 1990, was originally granted the operation in 2012 by a federal judge and has been fighting for the operation for over two decades.
Lawyers for Kosilek argue that the appeals court did not find “clear error” in the initial ruling, therefore denying a legal basis to overturn it according to NECN.
