Mansfield Fire Chief Plans To Retire

During his 12-year tenure, Fire Chief Boldrighini helped oversee planning for the new public safety building and secured important grants.

MANSFIELD, MA — Fire Chief Neal Boldrighini plans to retire in September, Town Manager Kevin Dumas announced at the last select board meeting.

Boldrighini, who's served as fire chief for 12 years, will not retire until the new public safety building for both the fire and police departments is built, the Sun Chronicle reported.

In 2007, Boldrighini replaced former chief Robert Bellavance. Boldrighini has been a firefighter for almost 30 years. During his 12-year tenure as fire chief, Boldrighini oversaw several key projects, including planning designs for the new public safety building and securing grants. One of those grants, the Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response grant (SAFER), was for almost $1 million and allowed the department to hire four new firefighters.
