Mansfield High School Aims to Add Associate Principal
The committee voted to have Superintendent Zeff Gianetti draft a job description.

MANSFIELD, MA - Mansfield High School is hoping to restructure their administrative staff and add a position in their office.
This week, the School Committee voted to allow Superintendent Zeff Gianetti to create and submit a job description for an associate principal at the high school. If approved, the associate principal would operate below the principal but above the two assistant principals.
According to Gianetti, the retirement of Robinson School Co-Principal Joanne Jordan retiring has allowed the district to move the funds to the high school and restructure.

“With the number of social and emotional issues, the job of the two assistants and principal has changed significantly,” Gianetti said. “I know as the principal of the Qualters Middle School, 50 percent of the things I did didn’t exist three years ago.”
In the past, the school district has requested a dean of students at the high school but was unable to secure the position due to budget constraints. Unlike an associate principal, a dean would have worked under the assistant principals.

If approved, the assistant principals will remain in their daily supervisory roles. A job description for the proposed addition now has to be approved by the school committee.
