Mansfield Police Asks Jimmy Buffet Parrotheads to Leave Homemade Toilets at Home

If you're going to get wasted away at the Xfinity Center this weekend, use the portapotties.

MANSFIELD, MA — If you're going to this weekend's Jimmy Buffet show at the Xfinity Center, the Mansfield Police Department would like you to know that you can bring whatever you need to tailgate and plenty of inflatables to pass around while you sing "Fins," but your own personal toilet has to stay behind.

In a proactive move, the police department announced on Facebook that tent toilets will not be allowed at the venue.

"We want to get the word out early this year that the "tent toilets" will not be permitted (or tolerated). We know, we know....no one likes to poo in a Porta-Loo, but think of it as an experience to build character. Like showering at camp with a family of spiders," the department wrote.

The practice seems to be one associated with the Parrotheads and loyal supports of Buffet. During last year's show, nearly 100 people were told to take down their portable toilets and about 10 were left behind, police said.

Parking lots for Saturday's show open at 11 a.m.
