Mansfield Town Manager Resigns
Town Manager Bill Ross has decided to leave his position, effective March 31.

MANSFIELD, MA — Mansfield's town manager of seven years will be off the job at the end of the week.
Town Manager Bill Ross and the selectmen announced this week that Ross has resigned from the position, effective March 31. He did not give a reason for his sudden departure in his remarks during the town manager's update, only reflecting on his tenure in Mansfield.

"As I look forward to my next opportunities, I want to commend the quality of the staff, the work they do for the community, the excellent and outstanding progress we have made in a number of areas in seven years," Ross said. "There are a lot of challenges left, a lot of things going on, but I leave feeling the community is in good condition and a lot of positive things going on.
Monday night, John Stanbrook, the town's finance director and town accountant, was chosen by the selectmen to be the interim town manager.

The board is expected to discuss the process for a new town manager at their meeting Wednesday night.
