New Signs Coming to Downtown Mansfield

The downtown area is getting a facelift.

MANSFIELD, MA — Sign, sign, everywhere in Mansfield a sign, new signs that is.

The first recommendation from the downtown committee is in and it's in the form of banners, directional signs, and flags for the area. The proposal for the new displays were approved by the selectmen Wednesday night, along with preliminary work on a walking trail on Old Colony Way and a walking path from Mansfield Bank to Rumford Avenue.

The downtown area is expected to get 76 banners for the light poles, 11 directional signs, and two-three parking signs. The 76 banners cost about $6,000 total, the parking signs range from $500-600, and the directionals are $50-60, according to Town Manager Bill Ross.
