Safety Repairs Slated for Mansfield Train Station

The cost is estimated to run between $6 to $8 million.

MANSFIELD, MA —The Mansfield train station could use and may get a change when it comes to safety.

At Wednesday night's selectmen meeting, Town Manager Bill Ross said the state is planning to request bids next month for a variety of items at the T stop, according to the Sun Chronicle. Changes include replacing two high-level platforms, installing new lighting, the repaving of an MBTA-owned lot, and a more level path to the platform.

The cost is estimated to run between $6 to $8 million, with the town not having to foot the bill.
