State Gives Mansfield High School Level 1 Status

Mansfield, MA - A new report says Mansfield High School is doing a pretty good job when it comes to meeting the state’s gap narrowing goals

In their latest report, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education report commended the high school for earning a level 1 accountability and assistance level.

All schools in the state and districts are classified into five levels with one being the highest and five being the lowest.

On the Cumulative Progress and Performance Index (PPI), Mansfield High School scored an 88 out of 99.

The progress and performance index combines information about narrowing proficiency gaps, growth, and graduation and dropout rates over multiple years into a single number, according to the DESE. All districts, schools, and student subgroups receive an annual PPI based on improvement over a two-year period and a cumulative score based on four years of data. For a group to be considered to be making progress toward narrowing proficiency gaps, its cumulative PPI must be 75 or higher.

Jordan/Jackson Elementary School and Qualters Middle School were both named level 2 schools. Since most districts are classified by its lowest performing schools, Mansfield was classified as a level 2 district.
