State Names Mansfield Level 2 School District

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education recently released the report.

MANSFIELD, MA — A new report from the state looks at the achievement and accountability levels of the Mansfield schools.

In their latest report, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education classified Jordan/Jackson Elementary, Qualters Middle, and Mansfield High Schools as Level 2 schools.

All schools in the state and districts are classified into five levels with one being the highest and five being the lowest.

On the Cumulative Progress and Performance Index (PPI), Jordan/Jackson Elementary received a 62 out of 99, Qualters Middle received a 78, and Mansfield High School earned a 91.

The progress and performance index combines information about narrowing proficiency gaps, growth, and graduation and dropout rates over multiple years into a single number, according to the DESE. All districts, schools, and student subgroups receive an annual PPI based on improvement over a two-year period and a cumulative score based on four years of data. For a group to be considered to be making progress toward narrowing proficiency gaps, its cumulative PPI must be 75 or higher.

Since most districts are classified by its lowest performing schools, Mansfield was classified as a Level 2 district.
