Mansfield Police Chief's Home Damaged In Fire

Mansfield Fire confirmed Friday afternoon that Police Chief Ronald Sellon's home was damaged in a fire.

MANSFIELD, MA β€” A small electronic device is being blamed for a Friday morning fire in Mansfield.

At 8:33 a.m., Mansfield Fire responded to a repot of a small fire in the upstairs bedroom of a home on Stearns Avenue. Firefighters were able to quickly stop the blaze, but not before the second floor of the house suffered fire damage and the first floor obtained smoke and water damage.

Firefighters say it took three minutes to get to the scene and in that time, the fire expanded from an electronic device and small area to a large room. Fire officials are not sure how the device caught on fire and noted that can be difficult to determine due to the damage to the device.
