Suspects in Mansfield Break-in Held on $500,000 Bail
David A. Barker and Efrain Montero were recently ordered held on $500,000 cash bail by a Lawrence District Court judge.

MANSFIELD, MA — Two men charged in what authorities call a "regional case" were arraigned in a court.
David A. Barker and Efrain Montero were recently ordered held on $500,000 cash bail by a Lawrence District Court judge, according to the Boston Globe. They are charged with stealing cash and electronics from stores and ATMs across New England, including one store in Mansfield.
The investigation into the two men began last October following a break-in at the Simply Mac store at Mansfield Crossing. According to the Mansfield Police Department, the two pried the rear door of the building open, leading the pair to the common hallway. The suspects then proceeded to cut a hole in the wall that led to the backroom of Simply Mac. After disabling the security system, the two allegedly stole over $100,000 in merchandise.

Investigators learned that Montero linked his phone number to some of the stolen products, with the break in the case coming in March after a Wellesley break-in. After allegedly breaking into an ATM, the two left in two vehicles and left behind two duffel bags with tools. One of the vehicles was registered to the same address listed on the Apple ID of either Montero's girlfriend or wife.
The multistate investigation is still ongoing.
