Three Injured After Accident Sends Tractor-Trailer Cab Into Payne School

The accident took place at 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Three people received injuries last night night after a tractor-trailer cab and a SUV collided near the intersection of Copeland Drive and Chauncy Street.

The Sun Chronicle reports that the accident was reported around 10:20 p.m. and caused the tractor-trailer cab to plow into the former Payne School building.

The injured parties were all from the SUV and were taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital while the tractor-trailer driver refused a medical transport to the hospital.

The building inspector was called to the scene to check on the building and deemed it structurally sound.
