Weekly Mansfield Police Activity: Xfinity Center Show Causes Spike in Arrests
Here's a look at police activity over the past week.

Mansfield, MA - The past week was quite busy for the Mansfield Police Department.
From June 10 to 16, the department responded to 596 calls for service, a 24% increase from the prior week. Officers responded to three 911 hang-ups, 60 medical calls, and 18 alarms, seven of which were commercial and 11 were residential. Officers conducted 50 motor vehicle stops, 64% of which resulted in written warnings or civil citations, and 36% had verbal warnings.
There 103 arrests made by police in Mansfield. 86 percent were on-site arrests, 11 were summons, and 3 percent were warrant arrests. According to the Mansfield Police Department, the large increase is related to the Xfinity Center. Five of the arrests were residents, 97 were non-residents, and one was unknown.

Officers wrote 35 reports for malicious destruction, disorderly conduct, drug possession, harassment, threats, and larcenies.
Officers responded to 12 accidents, an increase of two from the week prior. About half of the accidents occurred near the Xfinity Center. Last week's accidents were more prevalent on Thursday, accounting for 42 percent, and Friday, accounting for 33 percent, police said. 42 percent of the accidents occurred between 3-4 p.m. and 42 percent also occurred between 6-7:30 p.m.
