Marblehead residents know that there is no shortage of restaurants in town that offer patrons a gourmet lunch or dinner. However, there aren't quite as many that serve breakfast. Today, Marblehead Patch offers up our list of our favorite places to grab breakfast or brunch.

1. : On weekdays, this Atlantic Avenue restaurant serves dinner only, but on Sundays, it offers both American and Irish breakfasts with large servings. The retreat's salmon steak omlettes are a local favorite.

2. : On Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., this popular Village Plaza restaurant, which was recently featured on The Phantom Gourmet, offers a delicious brunch menu.

3. : Located on Front Street, this self-proclaimed "diner-meets-clam-shack" draws customers that range from deeply loyal local residents to seasonal tourists looking for a bit of local breakfast fare.

4. : Located in the heart of downtown Marblehead, this cafe is the second of two coffeehouses owned by brothers, Andrew and John Mahoney. Patrons can order breakfast sandwiches as well as a wide variety of fresh, tantalizing baked goods. It also serves a variety of other drinks, both hot and cold, such as teas and smoothies.
