Accident Causing Traffic Issues on Washington Street

A traffic accident involving a vehicle and a utility pole is causing issues on Washington Street on early Monday afternoon.

The accident happened around noon near 47 Washington St., according to police. Police, fire, and electric crews were on the scene, and police were recommending motorists near the area seek an alternate route.

Emergency crews blocked off the area down to Franklin Street and the light department cut power to the area to repair the pole.

The MBTA bus will also be on the snow route until further notice. The police will update further when they have more information.
