Marblehead Businesses Look To Lure Salem Residents Away From Halloween Crowds (patch.com) — Marblehead shops and restaurants are teaming up this October to offer Salem residents a 10% discount as a quieter alternative to their hometown's Halloween rush. By showing Salem ID, visitors can enjoy deals at several Marblehead boutiques and eateries, highlighting the town as a calm, nearby escape from the seasonal crowds.
   

2. Several leaks appear in new high school, Veterans School roofs after storm (marbleheadcurrent.org) — Marblehead High School's new roof developed several small leaks during the recent nor'easter, and the Veterans School roof saw a minor seepage, but officials say repairs are underway and issues are limited. High school roundup/scores: Maddy Campbell sets up Barnstable volleyball win (bostonherald.com) — Marblehead athletes had a big day, with volleyball sweeping Peabody behind double-digit kills and girls soccer blanking Danvers 3–0 thanks to a goal and two assists from Ainsley MacDonald. The boys soccer team also exploded for a 7–0 win over Danvers, and Marblehead's golf and cross-country squads posted strong conference victories in a busy statewide slate.
   

5. Three Marblehead friends take a personal day — and land a 600-plus-pound tuna (marbleheadcurrent.org) — Three Marblehead friends turned a personal day into a memorable haul, boating a 600–700-pound bluefin tuna off Stellwagen Bank and bringing it back through Marblehead Harbor. They sold the fish commercially, entered it in a local tournament, and still hustled home in time for school pickup, adding a big-fish tale to Marblehead's fishing lore.
