Robidoux said that counselors were to be at the school on Friday until 7 p.m., and both weekend days from noon to 3 p.m.

A message from the Coyne family said: "There are simply no words for the loss of a child, a brother, a captain, a teammate, and a young man who is so deeply loved by so many."

"Owen brought so much joy, laughter, and light into the lives of those who knew him, and the impact he made will remain with us forever," the family said. "Owen was so very loved. He always will be.

"And he will be missed beyond words."
