• First financial review since $15M override set for later this month (marbleheadcurrent.org) — Marblehead officials will hold their first joint financial review later this month, giving residents an early look at how town and school budgets are shaping up after May's $15 million override. While the review meeting itself is closed, Select Board Chair Dan Fox plans to share a public summary at the Oct. 28 Select Board meeting, outlining the town's evolving financial picture.

They got the sister of Celtics' first-round pick Chris Cenac Jr. (bostonglobe.com) — Marblehead's girls' volleyball team faces Danvers at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in a key Northeastern Conference showdown between the league's top two teams, after the Magicians swept Danvers in their last meeting.
