Antje Duvekot returns to the me&thee with special guest Alice How

Antje Duvekot, one of Boston’s top singer-songwriters, appears at the me&thee at 28 Mugford Street, Marblehead, MA on Friday, March 8. She’s won multiple songwriting awards including the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the Boston Music Award for Outstanding Folk Act. Her songs soar and simmer, all the while inviting the listener into a world we all identify as ours. Special guest Alice Howe opens the show at 8:00 p.m.

Antje Duvekot has solidified her reputation as a top-notch musician with a discography that includes many stellar songs. Her latest album, Toward the Thunder, is perhaps her most personal album to date; the songs focus on courage and resilience. It includes an array of musical talent like Shawn Mullins, Anais Mitchell, Liz Longley and Richard Shindell. Antje’s backlist albums contain many memorable songs that have captured the attention of National Public Radio and been included on the Top 10 album picks of the year by the Boston Globe.

In 2017 her EP You've Been Away So Long debuted on the Folk-DJ charts with a #1 song, “Homeland Blues,” and #7 album for the year. A 2018 NewSong Music Songwriting Competition finalist, Alice was a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist, NERFA Formal Showcase Artist and WFMT Folkstage featured performer. She has completed her forthcoming full-length album, Visions, produced by Freebo (Bonnie Raitt), and will be touring the new album throughout 2019.
