Apparently, You Can't Put Up Your Own 'No Parking' Signs

Police investigate a reported repeat parking offender.

Signs that are bought at the local hardware store do not carry the same legal weight as official traffic signs.

On Friday morning, a man came into the police station and said he had called the police three times about the parking on Beacon Street.

The man said there was a truck parked illegally, under a No Parking sign, and as he was going by, the driver was getting out of the truck, he had to swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid hitting the truck, nearly into an oncoming car.
