Children of any age and their caregivers can visit the Killam Children’s Room on Thursdays between 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. to make a seasonal craft to take home. Working freely with seasonal themed crafts enhances pre-literacy in children with practice in sequencing steps, hand-eye coordination, etc. No registration is required.

Step back into the sights, sounds, and even the smells of colonial New England at the 3rd Annual Colonial Craft Fair, hosted by Marblehead Museum in the beautiful gardens of the Jeremiah Lee Mansion. This lively outdoor event brings history to life as skilled artisans and historic interpreters demonstrate the trades and traditions that shaped Marblehead and the wider region. Stroll the grounds, meet members of Glover’s Marblehead Regiment, and see 18th-century recipes come to life with a culinary historian—offering a vivid glimpse into everyday life in early New England.
Throughout the day, visitors can watch a remarkable range of traditional crafts in action. Meet a mantuamaker demonstrating the art of 18th-century dressmaking, a cabinetmaker shaping fine furniture by hand, and a leatherworker practicing techniques once essential to daily life and maritime communities. Learn how candles were made with a traditional chandler, explore the tools and skills of a master gunsmith, and see a master tinsmith at work. Discover how rope was formed for shipboard use, how flax was processed into fiber, and how basketry and tape-loom weaving supported households and trade alike. You can also observe the delicate process of copperplate engraving and printing—an essential craft in the world of early books and images.
It’s a day of hands-on history, learning, and discovery for visitors of all ages—an opportunity to experience the ingenuity, resourcefulness, and artistry that built early New England, and to meet the dedicated craftspeople who keep these remarkable traditions alive today.

The duo the New York Times called "Bed-Stuy’s favorite creative couple” grace the clubs of Ibiza, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, UK, and Canada with their blend of DJing, performance art, and live music tracks .... and now they return after their jaw-dropping Gloucester debut last year for the Cape Ann Pride Weekend. Hostess extraordinaire Dr. Viola Voila will tantalize with her captivating performances and keep the party vibes flowing. DJ opener Salomon delivers deep, danceable tracks to get the party started.&nbsp;
Dr. Viola Voilà (she/her in drag) or Dr. Kasey Calebaugh (he/him out of drag) enjoys a wide range of musical endeavors as a violist, Suzuki music educator, and drag entertainer. They completed a Doctorate of Music Arts degree in Viola Performance from the Hartt School, graduating with the Regents’ Honor Award - the most prestigious award that the University of Hartford bestows on graduate students. They regularly film drag story hours and interview local residents at Ipswich Community Access Media, perform with the Cape Ann Symphony and Nonconformist Orchestra (the first and only transgender/non-binary, LGBTQ+ and minority inclusive professional orchestra), and serve on the Ipswich Cultural Council Board. As an active LGBTQ+ professional, they have been invited to speak at numerous high schools, perform for Hamilton-Wenham HRC Pride Picnic, World Pride DC 2025, &amp; actively produce content with the Trustees.

We all have a wish to be happy and avoid suffering. Throughout our lives, we travel many different paths driven by this desire: career, relationships, home, vacations, etc. But ultimately, these external paths do not yield the results we seek.
During these introductory Dharma talks and meditation sessions, we will discuss the internal paths that can lead to discovering real happiness and a more meaningful life.
Join longtime Kadampa Buddhist practitioner, Tim Hogarty, to:

Tim lives locally on the North Shore, and is an avid gardener and cook. Enjoys walks with his dog, Boo.
