Abbot Public Library

Engineer a super-strong "shell" dome using shapes and simple materials, then load-test it to see how much it can hold. Investigate real snail, mussel and oyster shells at the touch tank and discover how shell shape and structure protect animals from waves and predators.

The Abbot Public Library Foundation is honored to host New York Times bestselling author Meg Waite Clayton for a special presentation of her latest novel, "Typewriter Beach."  Fire” created by our harbor illumination, we ask you to please remember
 that this event is only possible because the Marblehead Fireworks 
Committee is an all-volunteer organization, and the fireworks display is
 100% privately funded via donations. 
Riverhead Beach is at the far end of the harbor.However, it is a&nbsp;straight shot down harbor to see the fireworks. You will be able to see&nbsp;both sides of the Harbor Illumination from here.Fort Sewall will be one of the very best locations to see the Fireworks&nbsp;and Illumination of the Harbor. It is sure to become very crowded and it&nbsp;is suggested that you plan to arrive as early as possible to get a good&nbsp;spot.Fort Beach (Flat Rock Beach to the locals) is another great location to&nbsp;see the Fireworks and Illumination of the Harbor. However, due to it&nbsp;being such a great vantage point, it will become very crowded. It is&nbsp;suggested that you plan to arrive as early as possible to get a good&nbsp;spot.Crocker Park offers splendid panoramas of the entire harbor. Crocker&nbsp;Park is where we "Count Down The Fireworks". Plenty of benches, grassy&nbsp;areas, and of course, rocks.Chandler Hovey Park is one of the best vantage points to see the&nbsp;Fireworks and Illumination of the Harbor. However, due to its great&nbsp;popularity, it will become very crowded and it is suggested that you&nbsp;plan to arrive as early as possible.

Swampscott Town Hall

The Swampscott Garden Music Gathering will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Swampscott's Linscott Park across from the Swampscott Town Hall.&nbsp;&nbsp;While last year's Garden Art Walk welcomed visitors into gardens throughout town, this year's gathering offers a relaxed afternoon of music, creativity, and community on Monument Avenue overlooking the ocean.
The afternoon begins at 1:00 p.m. with a community drum circle led by Philip Alexander, who will provide a variety of drums and percussion instruments for everyone to enjoy. No experience is necessary—participants of all ages are invited to join in and make music together.
At 2:00 p.m., Tom Reid, Paul Todisco, and Wendy Linkin of The Boomerangs will perform favorite hits from the 1960s and 1970s. Then, at 2:30 p.m., Mike Brison and Philip Alexander will each perform an acoustic set featuring a mix of classic favorites.
Gardeners are invited to participate in an optional surprise garden swap. Bring a small tote bag containing a garden treasure—perhaps a plant, cutting, flowers, herbs, berries, or vegetables—and enjoy exchanging it for another surprise from a fellow gardener.
Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket, a musical instrument, a sketch pad, or simply yourself. Whether you'd like to sing along, sketch the scenery, visit with neighbors, or simply enjoy a summer afternoon by the ocean, all are welcome.
Come relax, reconnect, create, and celebrate the friendships that have grown through Swampscott's gardening, music, and arts community.
