"Racing New England Waters"

Nationally acclaimed New England Artist Dimetrious Athas will be exhibiting his paintings at the Brush Strokes Gallery, 14 Prospect Street, Marblehead, MA 01945, in conjunction with the Marblehead Marine Festival from August 3, through August 30, 2012. The opening reception will be held on Sunday August 5 from 3:00 PM to 6:00PM. For further information please call 781.929.1612.

Athas is considered to be one of the top marine artists in the United States and his work has been featured in several books, magazines, and "The Art of the Sea" international calendar. He is the past vice-president of the International Society of Marine Painters, past board member of the American Society of Marine Artists, past president of the Swampscott Arts Association and past member of the Marblehead Art Association.

His work has been shown in many museums and galleries throughout the United States including The Mystic International  Show in Mystic, Connecticut. Dimetrious was born in Salem, MA and now resides in Swampscott.
