Get Fit in Marblehead School of Ballet's Stretch and Strength

Achieve your fitness goals! Dancers and non-dancers, sign up for the Marblehead School of Ballet's special Stretch and Strength Workshop.

Are you looking for a different kind of exercise class to achieve your fitness goals in 2018? The Marblehead School of Ballet's (MSB) special Stretch and Strength Workshop can help you get started. The workshop, open to teenagers and adults, will be presented on Sunday, January 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the studio, located at 115 Pleasant Street in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

MSB's Stretch and Strength Workshop for dancers and non-dancers provides a unique exercise class. Taught by Director Paula K. Shiff, recipient of Salem State University's 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts, the pace of the workshop and the exercises are designed to meet each student's needs.

The workshop uses various modalities to increase kinesthetic awareness, improve alignment, strength, and flexibility. "Our unique workshop is designed to enhance dance and sport skills, while promoting better health. Students learn exercises outside the dance vocabulary to aid the development of better alignment, flexibility, core strength and body awareness," said Shiff, who trained at the Boston Ballet, the American Ballet Theatre and the Martha Graham Studio and performed with the Boston Ballet.
