Gold Mercedes Blocks Hydrant, Hit-and-Run, Restaurant Egged: Marblehead Police Log

Latest Marblehead police log: police ticketed a gold Mercedes blocking a hydrant, hit-and-run crash, and a restaurant is egged.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — The following are excerpts from the Marblehead police log. Suspects are presumed innocent.

Mon., Oct. 10

  • 2 p.m. A 70-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized after falling in his driveway.
  • 2:42 p.m. A caller on Farrell Court complained about a gold Mercedes parked in front of fire hydrant. An officer responded and issued a violation.
  • 5:02 p.m. A woman on West Shore Drive called police and complained about a group of kids on scooters using bungee cords to pull each other in wagons. She said she was concerned because they are "close to parked cars" and had no adult supervision. An officer responded to the scene and the kids agreed to stop.
  • 10:13 p.m. A restaurant worker on School Street said someone tossed eggs at the restaurant from a passing vehicle.

  • 9:10 a.m. There was a hit-and-run crash on South Street. A woman said a man in a gray Chevrolet pickup truck struck her as she was parked to the side of the road. She said the man got out of his car, "saw the damage and got back in and drove off." An officer caught up to the man at his residence; the man "admitted fault and will pay for the damages."
  • 5:23 p.m. A man out walking on Harbor Avenue found a used needle on the ground.
  • 5:29 p.m. A child got locked in a vehicle on Prince Street; the child was soon freed by first responders. The child was not hurt.
  • 10:31 p.m. A woman on Cliffside Road said someone drove up to her house, took pictures, then drove off.
