'Good Friday Cantata' Returns to St. Andrew's

2. Bob Franke's Good Friday Cantata: The annual musical event, which features Bob Franke and musicians from around the region, is 8 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew's. $15.

3. New Liquor License for Sale: Selectmen bowed to state pressure and grudgingly approved a liquor license for the shuttered Sweeney's Retreat. The bankruptcy trustee for Sweeney's will be selling it, with the proceeds going toward paying the defunct bar's creditors.

5. Book Signing on Saturday: Shubie's hosts author Roberta Chadis as she reads from and signs copies of "Good Boy Jesse" on Saturday from 12-3 p.m. It's the life story of a Golden Retriever who runs, sits...and writes. And if you happen to be the owner of an old dog, like I am, you get teary just watching the YouTube clip about the book.
