Group Art Show@ the Cloister Gallery at St. Andrew’s Church

The Cloister Gallery at St. Andrew’s Church is featuring an exhibition by local artists Doug W. Johnson and Susan Johnson. The show will open with a reception on Sunday August 6th from 11:00am-12:30 p.m. and run through Thursday October 5, 2017. The Cloister Gallery at St. Andrew’s Church is located at 135 Lafayette St., Marblehead. The Gallery hours are M-F 9am-2pm, Sa 9-10:30am, Su 8am-12pm. The Gallery is handicapped accessible. From a distance, Doug W. Johnson’s landscapes appear to be painted with dots of color, but step closer and you’ll discover that Mr. Johnson’s works of art aren’t paintings at all. He has traded the brush for several thousand points of glass: tiny shimmering sead beads woven into breathtaking glass canvases. Susan Johnson uses nature to inspire her imaginative vision of collage as a medium which evolved from her interest in painting landscapes.
