Harassment, Scammers and a Stolen Basketball Hoop

Thursday, March 14
- At 9:32 am., police received a call from Swampscott police about chimney cleaning scammers and to be on the lookout for a white van.
- At 10:00 a.m., police received a report of a lost black leather wallet on Commercial Street. It was lost 7-8 days ago with credit cards and a driver's license and insurance card in it.
- At 6:23 p.m., police received a report of a big rock in the road on Liberty Lane.
Friday, March 15
- At 11:04 a.m., police received a report of a man going door-to-door and leaving leaflets. When the caller went to the door, he found the man was trying the knob.
- At 1:12 p.m., a person walked into the police station and dropped off a wallet found on Washington Street. There was a large amount of cash in the wallet.

- At 05:28 a.m., police received a report from Ocean Avenue about a loud noise that sounded like a boat or a generator.
- At 9:31 a.m., a Lindbergh Road caller reported his basketball hoop was stolen.
- At 9:14 p.m., police received a report that two high school-aged girls fell out of a pick-up truck on Bessom Street.
- At 9:18 p.m., police received a report from a Kenneth Road father who reported his son was drunk and causing problems in the home. The son was taken into protective custody and later released.
- At 11:32 p.m., police received a report of a loud party on Broughton Road.
- At 11:44, firefighters extinguished a small car fire on Knight Avenue.
Sunday, March 17
- At 9:21 a.m. police received a report of a motor vehicle crash at Rainbow Road and West Shore Drive. No injuries were reported.
- At 11:28 a.m., keys were found at Atlantic Avenue and Hawkes Street. The keys have a "queen" tag on them.
- At 7:18 p.m., a caller reported to police that his son was at a Cub Scout event at the high school and that when his son returned to the school to retrieve his hat there were older kids near a vending machine. The older kids threw pennies at the caller's son, the caller said. When the boy picked up the pennies they said to him that he "must be a Jew." Police tried to track down the older kids and were to file a report.
Monday, March 18

- At 2:12 p.m., police received a report of a possible breaking and entering on Captains Walk Way.
- At 2:25 p.m., Marblehead police picked up a Salisbury woman at the Salisbury Police Department. Rachel Loiacano, 25, of 197 Elm St was charged on a Marblehead warrant.
- At 10:25 p.m., police charged Robert Sobotka, 18, of 26 Jackson Street, Salem, with marijuana possession one ounce or less, to distribute.
