Man 'Spooking Out' Young Girls on the Beach
Plus, graffiti concerns and a warrant arrest.

At 1:05 a.m., multiple callers reported fireworks in the area. Officers heard the fireworks and located the source near the dump and logged that kids fled when an officer approached.
At 8:13 a.m. police arrested John Patrick Newton, 56, of Marblehead on a non-Marblehead warrant.

At 10:41 a.m., a past shoplifting incident was reported in which a bracelet valued at $88 was taken.
At 11:02 a.m., a person from the Marblehead Conservancy reported that a woman who walksher dogs daily in the Forest River area reported an increase in graffiti and vandalism there.

At 12:09 p.m., a caller reported a landscaping truck was parked in a handicapped spot at Devereux Beach. The vehicle was tagged.
At 1:24 p.m., a woman reported that a man was “spooking out” young girls on the beach by following and talking to them. The man left the beach in a light gray Toyota. Police could not locate a suspect.
At 3:28 p.m., a truck vs. fire hydrant crash was reported on Front Street.
At 4:15 p.m., a caller reported two young men ran past him and he was concerned about recent graffiti in the area. The log noted that two teenage boys were seen running and trying to conceal a BB gun. Police spoke with the boys and advised them that they could not use Airsoft guns in the conservation area.
