Marblehead Fire Causes At Least $500K In Damage At Boat Storage

The fire could have gotten out of hand due to the heavy fuel load, the fire department said.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — At least a half million dollars in damage was done during a dangerous fire that broke out at a boat storage facility.

The fire, which started on a 22-foot Eastern at Ryan Marine Services on Lincoln Ave., started shortly midnight. Firefighters responded after an explosion was reported by neighbors.

The fire department "made a quick stop of a fire that could have gotten out of hand quickly due to the heavy fuel load," it said.

No injuries were reported. The damages were between $500,000 and $750,000.
