Marblehead Forum To Tackle Natural Disaster Risk, Mitigation

Public input is sought to help Marblehead complete its Hazard Mitigation Plan amid the climate crisis.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead is looking at ways to help prepare for an increase of the frequency and the intensity of coastal storms amid the climate crisis.

The town's Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee is asking for public participation in a forum designed to help complete its Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The plan is designed to outline a strategy for reducing current and future risks of floods, drought, high winds and winter storms. Once approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the plan will allow the town to apply for pre-disaster mitigation grant funding.
