Marblehead Organization Announces Day of Service for Special Education Community
SPUR is seeking volunteers for an upcoming day of service at Marblehead's Eveleth School.

The Transition Center at Eveleth School in Marblehead is in need of some sprucing up and SPUR and The Marblehead Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) hope you have some time to lend a hand.
The Transition Center at Eveleth School is the home of the VOICE program – Vocational Opportunity, Independence, Continuing Education, which serves 18- to 22-year-old students within the special education community of Marblehead and surrounding areas.
According to SPUR Founder Jocelyn Cook, members of SEPAC reached out to her asking for SPUR’s help making the transition center a more welcoming and warm place for students to learn.

““The school is in drab shape,” Cook said. “The transition center and VOICE program are really trying to grow and be a place… people would want to come and learn. We want to help them try and jump start their efforts by sprucing up the area.”
On Saturday, July 25, volunteers will tackle the cleaning and painting of the office, entryway, gymnasium and main learning classroom at the Transition Center at Eveleth School, Cook said. She’s hoping for about 60 volunteers to sign up for at least one two-and-a-half hour shifts during the day.
