Marblehead Yacht Club Sponsors Riverhead Beach Clean Up

Volunteering at the Riverhead Beach Clean Up is a Great Way to Give Back to this Vital Waterfront Resource.

Marblehead Yacht Club, along with the Marblehead Health Department, Salem Sound Coastwatch and SUP East Coast Style, is sponsoring a beach clean up at Riverhead Beach on Saturday, May 23rd, from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon.

Located at the head of Marblehead Harbor, Riverhead Beach is a multi use area shared by boaters, kayakers, paddle board enthusiasts, dog walkers and many others who just enjoy the views of our busy harbor. Beyond the aesthetics of cleaning the accumulated winter debris, removing plastics and other possible pollutants helps maintain the sensitive natural habitat of our shoreline.

A representative from Salem Sound Coastwatch , a local environmental group, will give a short presentation describing the sensitivity of the shoreline habitat and the impact of seemingly insignificant amounts of debris. The Marblehead Health Department is providing bags and trash removal services.

ALL are invited to volunteer Saturday, May 23rd along with members of the Marblehead Yacht Club and the SUP East Coast Style. Light Refreshments will be provided at the Marblehead Yacht Club following the Event.
