Meet the Boats Doing Work in Salem Harbor

Check out the latest on the wastewater pipeline replacement project.

Work continues in the replacement of the pipeline carrying Marblehead’s wastewater under Salem Harbor to South Essex Sewerage District’s (SESD) treatment facility in Salem.

A number of vessels are employed in the job. Here’s a look at the big machines out in the harbor:

  • a Dredge Boat named “Captain A.J. Fournier”
  • a Support Spud Barge named the “Linda”
  • an Off-Shore Fusing and Pipe Deployment Barge named “Hughes 825”
  • a Materials Handling Barge named “CMI 395”
  • an Anchor Handling Tug named “Austin” and
  • two Work Boats named “Little Johnny” and “Patty C.”
